Ever feel so glued to your mobile phone/social media that you forget about the moment. I’m guilty of this whether it is at concerts, festivals or sporting events. Instead of just captivating the moment- I am usually there with two cameras trying to capture everything. Why? So I can share it with everyone obviously!
However, there are times when I just want to sit in the park with an ice-cream and just reflect. I’m trying to refrain from doing this, ok cut back (lets start with baby steps first). I guess we are a generation who are too concerned with the FOMO (fear of missing out). There have been many news stories involving celebrities telling fans to put their cameras away and just enjoy the moment. I suppose there is no right or wrong answer to this, it’s more of a debate. You can look at things from both perspectives, there have been times where I have tried to embrace a moment and not film Eminem performing ‘lose yourself’. Did I regret it? Partly because I wanted to look back at that moment over and over again. But I wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much as actually being there and just rapping along. So I guess it all comes down to having a bit of a balance. Take those Selfies but don’t forget to enjoy where you are too.
Anyone else have any thoughts?
