Everyone and their dogs know about the natural beauties of South America: Machu Picchu, Iguazu Falls, The Amazon Rainforest, Torres del Paine and the list could seemly go on forever. You will never truly realise how beautiful Mother Nature is until you see the wonders of South America!
But, North America boasts its own treasures: Yosemite National Park, Death Valley, The Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Banff. There’s a wide range of adventure trails you can take part in. Whether you’re wanting to be a park ranger for the day in Yosemite or star gaze from the bottom of Death Valley, there’s no limit to the adventures you could be having.
Well, where do we begin? South America has enough history to make even the biggest history buffs get a little excited. Machu Pichu is the poster boy of South American history. Built in the 1400’s at the height of the Incan empire’s reign, “The Lost City” was not found again until 1911. Another historical site that you need visit in South America is the Nazca Lines, home to over 13,000 lines which form 800 figures – most in the outline of animals that can only been seen from air! This remarkable site remains one of South Americas most fascinating mysteries.
Don’t be fooled, despite the USA being only 242 years old, there’s a rich history that can be discovered. Native American history is deeply woven into the foundation of the United States, states including Colorado host immaculate ruins from these tribes including Mesa Verde National Park. Looking to add some spice into your historical adventure, then Mexico is the place for you. The Mayans were a tribe truly ahead of their time, they were the first to eat chocolate after all! Some of North Americas most iconic monuments can be found in Mexico including one of the Wonders of the World, The Pyramid of Kukulkan at Chichen Itza.
If adventure is what you need then adventure is what you will get in The America’s. The South boasts a vast array of a tourist hotspots and not so hidden gems that are waiting to be explored. From the Amazon to Antarctic port town of Ushuaia and its breathe taking glaciers. There’s very little you won’t find or can’t do on this continent.
The North may have its fair share of nature trails and natural beauties, but it’s the modern cities and wild activities that grips you, with iconic cities such as New York, Toronto, Mexico City, and Orlando. There’s plenty to do and see that will leave you feeling you’re in the 22nd century. Visit Alcatraz prison, walk across the Golden Gate Bridge, or ride the roller coasters at Disneyland! Variety is key in North America.
So, we asked the question – North vs South America. But who wins? For adventure trails and natural phenomena with views that will leave you with memories for a life time the South holds all the cards. To the North, the vibrant cities, the national parks and the grip of the modern world is something that can’t be missed. Realistically, there is no right or wrong answer our question. It all depends on you, and how far you’ll go for the adventure!
